The Royal Plaza TNA Challenge 2009

Soccer 2009 was a grand success. The event took place from 27th july 2009 to 3rd August 2009,participating teams started arriving on the 27th,teams were received at Siliguri and escorted to Gangtok , lunch at Rangpo. On the 28th the unveling of Trophy was done by Honourable D N Thakarpa Cabinet Minister Government of Sikkim. The Tournament was officially Kicked off by Chief Guest of the day Justice S P Wangdi of the Honourable Hight Court of Sikkim on 29th of July.  Teams were divided in to two groups of Three teams each. Each team played two matches from the 29th to the 31st of July. The Chief Guest on The 30th of July was Shri Hissey Lachungpa Advisor to the Chief Minister of Sikkim. The Chief Guest on the 31st of July was alumni T P Bhutia Chief Engineer, Chief Guest for the semi finals on 1st September was Shri S D Lepcha Honourable Minister for Energy and Power. The Finals was graced by Honourable Speaker and alumni Shri KT Gyaltsen as the chief guest who also instituted a cash prize of Rs 10000/- to the winning team and Rs 5000/- to the Runners. Shri Dawcho Lepcha Hon Minister (Alumni) , Shri T W Lepcha Hon MLA (Alumni) , Shri Dorjee T Bhutia Hon MLA were the Guest of Honour. Please visit photos section for a picture dairy of the event.
